Aagrah Group of Restaurants won Best Restaurant Group 2021 (North of England) at the Asian Restaurant Awards 2021 at the Mercure Piccadilly Hotel, Manchester on Tuesday 31st August. Managing Director, Mohammed Aslam MBE, DL was also recognised and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding contribution made within the British Curry industry. The prestigious dinner is organised by the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) and the evening was attended by 500 leading restaurateurs, chefs, food writers and VIP guests.
Commenting on winning the award, Aagrah’s Managing Director Mr. Mohammed Aslam, MBE, DL said: “It is with great pride I accept this award, which benefits not only the Aagrah Restaurant Group, but the South Indian restaurant industry as a whole”.
The ACF Awards reveals the best establishments offering sumptuous cuisine from across the UK. From artisan kitchens to innovative street cuisine and gourmet restaurants, showcasing individuals and enterprises who offer outstanding gastronomic delicacies.
Uniting the Asian food industry, the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) brings together organisations and personnel within the Asian food industry and works in tandem with the Federation of Bangladeshi Caterers UK, the Chinese Takeaway Association UK and the Malaysian Restaurant Association.
Aagrah celebrates 44 years in business this year. The company has 10 restaurants across Yorkshire; a purpose-built conference and banqueting centre, The Midpoint Suite, Pudsey, seating 450; and an outdoor catering unit providing catering UK wide.
Aagrah also has a share of the home dining market through their range of authentic Tarka cooking sauces from Aagrah Foods, which are available in Asda and Morrisons stores. Aagrah Foods have also been nominated for two awards and are finalists for their Lahsen Tarka Sauce for The Grocer New Product Award and Mango Murabba Chutney for the Great British Food Award.
